About us

After the first successful collaboration for the project Love Hurts… Petrushka (choreography by Mario Schröder) in 2009 between the agencies Norddeutsche Konzertdirektion Melsine Grevesmühl GmbH and The.Lab Art & Media GmbH, Franziska Grevesmühl von Marcard and Dirk Elwert had the desire to continue and develop the joint work. At the same time, the two noticed that - with more and more savings in the cultural sector - it was becoming increasingly relevant to work together, to exchange ideas and to network. The aim was to connect the available contacts and the given knowledge and thereby to generate new synergies.

Therefore, a new agency called cult!ur partner was founded under the management of Dirk Elwert and Franziska Grevesmühl from Marcard in 2011. cult!ur partner has bundled the experience of the two agencies in the areas of touring, production, and consulting and advanced new approaches in the marketing and development of dance and theater projects. Under the slogan "immer einen Schritt weiter" (always a step further), new things were dared.

In the following years cult!ur partner established itself increasingly on the European market. At the same time, more and more organizational areas merged with those of the Norddeutsche Konzertdirektion Melsine Grevesmühl GmbH, as one of the founders - Dirk Elwert - also pursue new paths in the dance world. Due to the increased workload, cult!ur partner became part of the Norddeutsche Konzertdirektion Melsine Grevesmühl GmbH in 2014, which has been touring dance companies for over 60 years.

Nevertheless, we remain true to the founding idea of cult!ur partner: The focus of cult!ur partner today is on presenting European companies, those are innovative and recognize new trends, in Germany and neighboring countries. cult!ur partner continues to present newcomers, but also appreciates the long-term partnerships with the pioneers of the contemporary scene such as the Spellbound Contemporary Ballet from Italy under the direction of Mauro Astolfi and Valentina Marini and the company of Georges Momboye from France.

Each dance ensemble presented by cult!ur partner is unique and has developed its very own dance language: 420People under the direction of Václav Kuneš is very modern, while the Compagnie Dessources focuses on urban-hip-hop with live musical accompaniment. The Compagnie Illicite Bayonne specializes in neoclassic dance, while Brahim Bouchelaghems Ensemble Zahrbat creates contemporary hip-hop pieces. DaCru Dance Company from Italy with its full-length production can be classified in the area of house / hip-hop, eVolution Dance Theater shows a fascinating flood of images in form of dance acrobatics in combination with black light. La Compagnie Georges Momboye presents African dance in its most original form, while Spellbound Contemporary Ballet succeeds in revolutionizing European contemporary dance art. On the other hand, ZfinMalta under the direction of Paolo Mangiola, is a prime example of how even small companies can be great and tall and put an entire country into rush of dance.

In addition to the regular performances, all companies offer great supporting programs, like masterclasses, workshops, audience discussions or introduction talks. We would be happy to realize your community ideas with you and our ensembles and always go one step further.
